Thank You, Deacon John Pfenning!

Bishop William Joensen has given Deacon John Pfenning a new assignment serving rural parishes in our diocese that currently do not have a deacon. Through this new ministry, Deacon John will help expand the presence of the diaconate throughout the Diocese of Des Moines and introduce more parish communities to the important role of a deacon.

Deacon John was ordained in 2018 after four years of formation and education. During his eight years of service at St. Patrick Parish, he has been a faithful and generous presence in our parish community. He was especially instrumental in supporting and sustaining our parish following Fr. Glen’s health issues, and we are deeply grateful for the many ways he has served our parishioners over the years.

Deacon John will preach at St. Patrick during the weekend Masses on September 19–20.

Please join us as we thank Deacon John and celebrate his eight years of service to St. Patrick Parish with a farewell reception on Sunday, September 20 at Noon.
