Father Joel's Reflection
Advent teaches us to prepare for Christ’s Coming. We are the people of the second Advent (Jesus’ Second Coming). We learn from Jesus’ First Coming in Bethlehem 2000 years ago so that we might not be caught off-guard when He comes again.
We reflect on Jesus’ First Coming in the PAST in Bethlehem. We think of Jesus’ Second Coming in the FUTURE at a time of the Father’s choosing. And, we look closely at the present to discern the mysterious ways that Jesus comes to us NOW, hidden in the people and events of our lives, and especially in the Sacraments of the Church.
