Three-Year Transition Plan for Confirmation Changes

The Diocese of Des Moines will be moving the celebration of the sacrament of Confirmation from 10th grade to 6th grade. The shift aims to give young people the gifts of the Holy Spirit as they enter early adolescence. Very little change is taking place at the parish this year, however, St. Patrick is working on a transition plan that will occur over the next three years to prepare the different grade levels for the sacrament of Confirmation. Because we are a large parish (with large class sizes), this three-year period is necessary to efficiently plan and prepare candidates for the sacrament.
